CARSON – Breanna DuBois hit a career-high with 19 points and seven rebounds in route to a 75-62 Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball win over Cal State LA Saturday night.
Two other Toros reached double digits in Simone Thompson's 18 points and Dijour Ledbetter's 15. Destinee Williams added eight points and seven rebounds and Ledbetter grabbed eight boards.
The Toros (6-13, 3-9 CCAA) went on a 7-2 run in the final two minutes of the first quarter that would tie up the game at 16-16. They would extend this run into the second quarter and take the lead 21-16.
An 18-point lead for the Toros, the largest on the night, came with 5:35 remaining in the game. This would eventually seal the win for the Toros.
CSUDH outrebounded the Golden Eagles 50-34 and committed five fewer turnovers.
Christine Delapina and Rikke Fabricius both finished with 14 points for CSULA (11-10, 6-6 CCAA).
The Cardinal and Gold travels to Cal Poly Pomona Thursday with tip-off set at 5:30 p.m. The Broncos snuck away with a 67-60 at the Torodome in the last meeting three weeks ago.
