Brown Places Three Top 5 Finishes at SFSU Hosted Distance Carnival

SAN FRANCISCO -- Senior All-American Charlene Brown placed three top 5 finishes at the two-day Distance Carnival hosted by San Francisco State, a competitive invite that fielded Division I powerhouses such as UCLA, Ohio State, Cal, Texas Tech, Utah State, Santa Clara, CS Northridge and others.

Brown recorded two third place finishes and a fourth place finish while Kielyn Wilson posted a runner-up finish for the best Toro placement of the day.

Brown, who's looking to complete a stellar fourth and final year in Carson, posted a 3rd-place finish in her 400 meter specialty, crossing the line in 56.30, just three-tenths off a provisional qualifying time.

She then finished 4th in the 200 meter dash, crossing the line in 25.59. Brown capped off her stellar meet by running the third leg of the 4x100 as the quartet finished 3rd in a time of 47.84, accompanied by Sanita McNeally, LeShaya Evans and Kiana Cannon.

Wilson, meanwhile, coming off a CCAA Tournament Championship as part of the women's basketball team earlier this month, finished second in the high jump after leaping a bar set at 5 feet, 4 and 1/4 inches.
