ROHNERT PARK -- Cal State Dominguez Hills pushed No. 14 Sonoma State to the brink in sets one and two, but the Seawolves showed their resolve in taking the ultimate sweep tonight in The Wolves' Den.

With the loss, CSUDH drops to 8-15, 1-14 CCAA.

Coming off a tough four-set loss at San Francisco State last night, the Toros showed resolve against the nationally-ranked Seawolves after taking a 12-8 lead on a block assist by Tarryn Luafalemana and Taryn McCullouch, and maintaining the lead at 18-13 on the strong serve of Jilianne Pineda.

SSU, however, knotted the set at 22-22 and outscored the Toros 4-2 the rest of the way in the 26-24 win.

Set two was closer as the teams tied 11 times, the last at 16-16, before SSU put it in another gear and roared to a 23-17 edge, holding off a late Toro rally in SSU's 25-23 win.

After the break, CSUDH again hung tough in set three, keeping within 11-10 on a solo block by McCullouch.

The Seawolves, however, again turned it on when they needed it, scoring six-straight points to take control of the set for good in the eventual 25-19 win, and three-set sweep.

Alijah Gunsaulus' 11 and Luafalemana's 10 kills led the Toros in the loss, with Dana Brown contributing 25 assists and 11 digs for CSUDH's lone double-double on the night.

The Toros out-blocked SSU 10.0 to 8.0, but the hosts' .221 hitting average trumped CSUDH's .119, as well as SSU's 5 service aces to the Toros' 1.

The Toros continue their CCAA road trip next weekend at CS Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay, before returning home the weekend of November 15-16 to conclude their home schedule.
