Box Score
CARSON -- Visiting San Francisco State boasted three players in double figure kills compared to none for the Toros as the Gators posted a hard-fought 3-1 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills tonight in the Torodome.

With the 15-25, 25-20, 27-29, 23-25 loss, CSUDH falls to 6-8, 4-3 CCAA, while SFSU improves to 10-3, 5-1 CCAA.

After a lethargic first set that saw SFSU out-hit the Toros .308 to .054, CSUDH showed the heart that's made them the surprise team of the CCAA thus far by knotting the match at 1-1 in a 25-20 decision.

An epic set three saw CSUDH look like it was going to run way with the frame after taking a 7-1 lead, but SFSU regrouped to tie the set at 10-10, the second of what would be 15 ties, and ride a pair of Meagan Wright kills to give the Gators a thrilling 29-27 win.

Looking to extend the match to five, the Toros kept close with the visitors in set four, taking a 17-16 lead late in the frame.  SFSU, however, used strong serving by Wright and Iris Tolenada to take control at 24-20, eventually putting the pesky Toros away by a 25-23 count.

Megan Johnson had a monster match belting 24 kills and a .364 hitting percentage as one of three Gators to post double-figure kills, while Corissa Santos and Whitney Lee paced the Toros with nine kills each.

Korryne Kelley posted a team-high 20 digs, with Lee, Delea Pursel and Santos combining for 15 block assists.

Out-blocked to begin the match, the Toros rebounded in a big way, posting 13.5 blocks to just 5.0 for the Gators, but SFSU's triple headed attack and .209 hitting percentage were too much for the Toros to overcome.

CSUDH next will take to the road for four-consecutive matches over the next two weekends, beginning with a trip to Arcata for a Thursday night match against Humboldt State.
