Second-Ranked Coyotes Sweep Through Toros In Three

CARSON -- Not one Toro hit in the negative as the Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball team once again recorded a team cumulative positive hitting percentage, but that was the lone highlight as No. 2 ranked Coyotes of Cal State San Bernardino swept tonight's match 3-0.  Elizabeth Krieger led all Toros with 10 kills and nine digs.

With a quiet offense in the first set the Toros quickly fell victim to a -.045 hitting percentile before taking a set loss at 25-17.

Revived after the break, the Toros came out strong in the second with Krieger landing six kills and Ashley Clark making a strong return to action with five.

Ten times the Toros tied with the visitors in the second, their last being at 25 apiece before two points gave the Coyotes their second set win at 27-25.

CSUDH remained hot again in the third, grabbing a lead at 5-4 and tying the game again six times before CSUSB grabbed its final win at 25-17, ending the night.

With 27 assists, Cassidy Mangum pushed her career total to 1,004, becoming the seventh Toro to break the 1000-point barrier in her career.

Only one block shy of their opponent's total of 5.0, the Toros were once again led by Abbey Prusa, whose three on the night brings her to 19 on the season.

Now 1-8 overall and 1-3 in the CCAA, the Toros will travel to San Francisco State next Friday to take on the Gators at 7:00pm.
