Toros Let it Slip in 3-0 Loss to Cal State L.A.

CARSON -- Cross-town rival Cal State L.A. showed up in full force tonight, grabbing a quick three games from the Toros to drop CSUDH to 1-4 in the CCAA. Back in action after an injury recovery was setter Rebekah Wolfgramm, who found her groove and tallied seven assists to lead the hosts.

The Toros posted just four attacks in game one before falling to 25-8.

CSUDH came back in force in game two with seven kills while holding CSULA to 13. The Toros would also post a block assist while giving CSULA none at the net before a much more competitive 25-18 loss.

The Toros continued their ascent in game three with eight kills compared to 10 by the Golden Eagles, and were led by Madison Horsley's four, but their effort was not enough in game three's 25-16 loss, giving CSULA the match at 3-0.

Horsley led the Toros with seven attacks while posting five digs from the floor. Hilary Hougardy took the lead in defense with eight digs, while Wolfgramm, back after missing three weeks, posted seven assists to lead CSUDH.

Now with a 1-11 overall record (1-3 CCAA), the Toros will next see action as they host San Francisco State this Friday. First serve is set at 7:00pm.
