CARSON -- After dropping games one and two, the Toros used a rally of kills from both Samantha Maxwell and Ashley Clark in game three to land a 27-25 win over the Pioneers of Cal State East Bay, eventually landing them a match-win after five games.

With three of the five games on the night going over their allotted points, game one was a 26-24 win for CSUEB, game three a 27-25 win for CSUDH, and game five a 21-19 win for CSUDH, both teams racked up impressive stats.

Going into the deciding set five, it appeared that the night could belong to anyone with the score going back-and-forth.

Tied at 15-15, final kills from Clark and Maxwell eventually gave CSUDH the lead at 20-19 before a final smashing kill from Maxwell ended the night in the Toros' favor.

Overall CSUDH was led by Clark and Maxwell, both of whom landed double-doubles, Clark with 23 kills and 21 digs, Maxwell with 18 kills and 28 digs.

Behind the net, Ashley Davison was dominant with six total blocks, more than half of the team's 10 overall blocks. Cassidy Mangum provided more than enough assistance with 47 total sets on the night.

The win improves CSUDH to 1-9 on the season and 1-2 in the CCAA. The Toros will see action tomorrow as they head to La Jolla to face off against UC San Diego, first serve is slated for 7:00pm.
