Yotes Return Favor in 1-0 Win Over Cal State Dominguez Hills

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Three weeks after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson, Cal State San Bernardino returned the 1-0 favor this morning in the Coyote win, dropping the Toros to 7-6, 6-4 CCAA.  #Jessica Murphy# tallied a team-best 4 shots in the loss.

Continuing the theme that began in their first meeting, the Toros tallied a convincing 13-6 shot advantage for the game, although each defense held the opposing offense to just 3 attempts in the first half, entering intermission scoreless.

CSUDH turned up its offensive attack after the break, causing CSUSB keeper Laura Lyons to make 5 saves, while the CSUSB offense generated just one shot on goal in the second period.

That attempt, however, proved costly for CSUDH  as Katie Liby connected with her low line drive past Toro keeper #Alyssa Congdon# for the game's lone score at 66:05.

CS San Bernardino, which improved to 6-5-1, 5-2-1 CCAA, managed an 8-6 corner kick advantage, while the teams combined for just 8 fouls.

The Toros, who fell to 7-6, 6-4, continue CCAA road action next weekend, before returning home on Friday, October 16, to host UC San Diego in a 7:00 pm primetime match-up.
