Toros Can't Stay Afloat at Monterey Bay in 3-0 Loss

SEASIDE, Calif. -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's volleyball team posted their best hitting in four games before suffering a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Otters of Cal State Monterey Bay. Junior Ashley Clark posted a double-double with 11 kills and digs apiece in the effort.

With only one solo error, Clark grabbed her second-highest attack percentage on the season at .244, her highest in 15 games.

At seven kills in 19 attacks, Rebecca Raymond placed second for the Toros with .211 hitting while Rheann Fall led the Toros with 13 kills on .345 hitting.

Defensively, Madison Horsley commanded the floor with 18 digs, also tallying eight kills on the night. With both teams grabbing two blocks on the night, Raymond and Horsley contributed to the Toros effort with one solo block apiece.

The Toros held a quick lead in the first set at 12-10 before a four-point Otter rally gave them the game at 25-19. CSUDH could not grab a lead in set two before dropping the game at the same 25-19 score.

In set three, the Toros saw their only even score at 5-5 before seeing the night slip away before a 25-17 final score following a final Heather Rushton kill, CSUDH's last true point.

The loss drops the Toros to a 1-23 overall record (1-16 CCAA). CSUDH will take on the Gators of San Francisco State tomorrow on Halloween with first serve at 7:00pm.
