Pedrotti Lifts Toros to 2-0 Blanking of No. 4 Seattle Pacific

CARSON -- Without looking, #Makenzie Pedrotti# made her only shot of the night count, heading a perfect feed from #Jessica Murphy# past the keep of the defending NCAA National Champion Seattle Pacific Falcons, lending to the Toros' 2-0 win in the regular home-season closer.

Both teams played heavy defense in the first, with the shot advantage going to the Falcons 5-to-4.

SPU let two early chances slip, both in the first 15-minutes and coming on an empty Toro goal as the Falcon's Janae Godoy and Jocelyn Charette could not seem to find the frame and give SPU an early lead.

Coming out of the break, a Murphy chance changed the entire momentum of the game as she dribbled from the halfway mark, fiercely besting the Falcon defenders before landing her shot in SPU's Maddie Dickenson's hands.

Only five minutes later at 59:03, Murphy again changed the tune of the game, sending a scooter pass to a waiting Pedrotti for the game's first goal.

30-minutes later and with 3:27 left in regulation, #Colleen McNamee blasted a pass clear downfield to a patient Britney Vance# who cleanly beat the Falcon defense before blasting her shot to the right of Dickenson.

The two goals broke Dickenson's perfect 10-0 record and 0.00 goals against average while doing much to give the Toros reason to share a set in the upcoming 6-team NCAA West Region tournament.

Leading the Toros on the night, Murphy took eight chances, with five inside the 6-yard frame of the goal.

#Alyssa Congdon# was flawless in the box, stopping eight shots and commanding her defense to shutdown SPU's 15 shots on the night.

Now with a 11-7 overall record and their regular home season behind them, the Toros will resume CCAA action on the road next Friday at Cal State East Bay. Kickoff is slated for 12:30pm.
