Arcata, CA -- After posting four-consecutive wins over the lower echelon teams in the CCAA, Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped a perennial powerhouse in Humboldt State as the Toros took a solid 73-64 road win, their first ever victory against the 'Jacks, running their win streak to five-straight.  Senior Nonso Nibo led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field as CSUDH stormed back from a 31-30 halftime deficit.

WIth the loss, their third in a row, the Lumberjacks fell to 12-6 overall and 7-4 in league games. Earning its first win in six attempts against HSU, the Toros improved to 11-6 and 6-5 in the CCAA.

The Toros trailed at halftime, but gained a lead early in the second half and trailed only once the rest of the way. Humboldt State pulled within four points on Devin Peal's layup with 1 minute, 37 seconds, but CSUDH broke the Jacks' desperation press in the closing moments to hold on.

In addition to Nibo's 21, which included two dunks in the final 35 seconds, Rodney Yearby added 14 for the Toros while point guard Michael Hernandez led CSUDH's rebound effort with eight boards.  Peal scored 18 points for HSU, and was supported by teammates Will Sheufelt, with 14, and Grayson Moyer, with 10.

Humboldt State led by as many as 11 points in the first half, moving ahead 19-8 on Nick Green's dunk midway through the period. But the Toros whittled the lead down to a single digit four times, including a 31-30 deficit at the break.

The Lumberjacks opened the second half with a tip in by Cy Vandermeer, but the Toros responded with eight straight points to gain the lead. Their largest advantage of the second half was 10 points on two occasions, the first coming on Yearby's jumper with 8:15 left to play.

The Toros look to run their streak to six-straight as they travel to Rohnert Park tomorrow night to battle Sonoma State.
