Toohey Ends Double Overtime Marathon as No. 13 CSUDH Takes 1-0 Win Over San Francisco State

Box Score
Carson, CA – Senior Devin Toohey took a feed from Jose Serpas deep inside visiting San Francisco State's box and connected near side to end a double-overtime marathon against a game Gator squad as 13th-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills picked up its fifth-consecutive win in a 1-0 decision Friday night in Toro Stadium.

The Toros, 5-1 overall and 3-0 CCAA, had ample opportunities throughout the night, tallying an 11-6 shot advantage in the first half and a 16-2 edge after intermission, but SFSU keeper Israel Cisneros was up to the Toros' offensive attack, tallying 11 saves in the first two periods.

After the first extra frame in which both teams played at a frenetic pace, Sammy Rivas found Serpas with 3 1/2 minutes left in the second extra session, instigating the winning sequence.

CSUDH played most of the game on the Gator side of the field, tallying 11 corners to SFSU's one.  CSUDH keeper Derby Carrillo notched his fourth shutout in five games as the Toros won their fifth-straight contest.

The Toros continue their CCAA homestand on Sunday as Cal State Monterey Bay visits Toro Stadium for a 2:00 pm first kick.
