IRVINE – Visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills took advantage of three Concordia fielding errors in the 7th inning and posted three runs on the way to a 7-2 win, Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Toros' RHP Matthew Hopps (3-3) got off to a rough start, hitting the Eagles' leadoff man Daniel Robertson and allowing two runs on two hits and was also victimized by an error to fall behind 2-0. He settled in for the next five innings and gave up just two more hits while striking out eight to pick up the win.

A bloop double by Kyle Stanley tied the game at 2-2 in the 5th inning, then the Toros added five more runs over their final three at-bats to take charge. Fred Medina plated A.J. Gomez with a RBI-single for what proved to be the game-winner, then came home on the second of three Concordia miscues in the inning.

Jason Klug led the way for the Toros (11-12), going 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored while Medina was 3-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI. David Leyva, Gary Scott and Dustin Gober each pitched scoreless innings in relief to close out the win.

Six different Eagles had one hit apiece with Brent Dohling leading the way with an RBI and one run scored while Nick Lentine drove in the other Concordia run with a single.

Cal State Dominguez Hills entertains San Francisco State this weekend for a four-game homestand. First pitch on the Friday single game is 2 p.m.
