The Toros never led by less than 13 points in the second half.
Cal Poly Pomona (11-15, 8-11) shot just 18 percent in the first half and committed 17 turnovers. The Toros were much more efficient, making 46 percent of their first-half attempts and committing only nine turnovers.
Senior Tameka Blue had a tremendous game for the Toros, pouring in a game-high 22 points to go along with six assists, four rebounds and three steals. Cal Poly Pomona owned a 39-29 rebounding edge, but could not make up the difference in shooting percentage. Although the Broncos shot better in the second half – 41.9 percent – the Toros did even better, making 52.6 percent. For the game, the Toros shot 48.9 percent to 32.1 percent for the Broncos.
The Broncos were led by Ashley Moody, who had a team-high 11 points. Unique Anderson had 10 points.
