CARSON, Calif.--Sophomore forward Kei Kamara (Lawndale/Leuzinger HS) scored in the 14th minute of the game to give Cal State Dominguez Hills all the offense they would need in a 2-0 non-conference win over Vanguard University at Toro Field.

Kamara took a pass from senior Francisco Corona (Paramount/Compton HS) and beat Lion goalie Tommaso Bianchi one-on-one for a 1-0 lead.

CSUDH (3-0-0), ranked No. 12 in this week's NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II poll, went ahead 2-0 in the 60th minute when Nick Ripetto (Garden Grove/Pacifica HS) gathered a loose ball in front of the goal and knocked his shot to the back of the net for the final tally.

Vanguard University (1-1-1) was forced to play a man down after the 69th minute when Ryan Sullivan was sent off the field with a red card. But the Toros would not find the netting again while settling for the shutout victory.

Freshman goalie Derby Carrillo (La Mirada/St. John Bosco HS) earned the win with two saves today. Bianchi took the loss allowing only one goal while registering a save.

Cal State Dominguez Hills is back in action on Saturday hosting regional rival Seattle Pacific University at 3 PM.
