SEASIDE, Calif.-The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team was able to withstand an uninspiring first half of soccer to defeat Cal State Monterey Bay, 3-1, in California Collegiate Athletic Association action Sunday afternoon at Otter Field.

CSUDH, ranked No. 6 in the latest NSCAA/adidas poll, elevates to 5-1-0 and 1-1-0 in CCAA play.

The Toros were lifeless in the first 45 minutes of action, but came out a different team in the second period getting three second half goals. Jason Koza put CSUDH up 1-0 in the 46th minute after CSUMB's defense cleared a ball inside the box to Koza's feet, who promptly collected and lofted his shot over the goalie for the lead.

Jesse Graham put the Toros up 2-0 in the 56th minute when Nick Ripetto slipped his pass near the top of the box to Graham who lifted his shot from 20 yards out to the left side for his second goal of the year.

Cal State Dominguez Hills took a 3-0 lead when Ripetto tallied his third goal of the year in the 66th minute. Graham took a shot from the right side that deflected off the keeper. Ripetto was there to finish it with a shot to the near post.

CSUMB managed to get on the board in the 84th minute on a penalty kick for the final margin.

Kyle Polak made four saves in between the bars to earn the win. In the match, the Toros outshot the Otters 14-10.

CSUDH returns to home CCAA action on Wednesday taking on UC San Diego at Toro Stadium at 12:30.
