CARSON, CA -- Sarah Martinez scored two second half goals to lead No. 7-ranked Seattle Pacific to a 2-1 victory over No. 17-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday afternoon at Toro Stadium.

CSUDH (4-1-0) took a quick 1-0 lead in the fourth minute when Corrie Hirokawa (Torrance/N. Torrance HS) headed the tally home off a corner kick from Whitney Sanchez (San Pedro/Redondo Union HS).

The score stayed that way with each club having scoring opportunities without converting until the 55th minute when Martinez leveled the game after a scramble inside the box. Heide Jacobson and Allison Teague were credited with assists.

Martinez then knocked in the game-winning shot in the 74th minute of play taking advantage of a turnover inside the penalty box and beating Toro goalie Lisa Agramonte (Lakewood/Mayfair HS) one-on-one.

The match was brilliantly played between two of the top teams in the NCAA Division II West Region. Seattle Pacific (5-0-0) enjoyed a slight advantage in shots, 16-13, while the corner kicks were even at 5-5.

Cal State Dominguez Hills, who was undefeated entering today's match, will open up California Collegiate Athletic Association play on Tuesday travelling to Cal Poly Pomona. First kick is set for 4:30 p.m.
