Carson, CA--Visiting Chico State's Heather Gravett connected off an indirect free kick at the 39:12 mark, giving the Wildcats a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in a key CCAA women's soccer match-up Friday afternoon at Toro Stadium. With the loss, CSUDH falls to 7-4-1, 2-3-1 CCAA, while CSUC improves to 11-2-0, 6-1-0.

CSUC notched the game's first score at 7:25 as Courtney Quan intercepted an attempted outlet from CSUDH goalie Lisa Agramonte (Lakewood, CA/Mayfair HS), dribbled up the left side and beat the Toro goalkeep one-on-one for her first goal of the season.

CSUDH's Tara Senff (Palos Verdes Estates, CA/South HS) would knot the game at 1-1 at the 38:17 mark, taking a pass from Jennifer Jimenez (Gardena, CA/Bishop Montgomery HS) at 35 yards out and blasting her shot off the hands of CSUC goalie Kari Gonzales, giving Senff her fifth goal of the year.

The Toros' momentum would last just 55 seconds, however, as Chico's Gravett would provide the difference, scoring the game-winner after an initial touch by Liz Malm.

The Toros outshot the Wildcats 13-9, including a decisive 6-1 after intermission, and enjoyed an 8-4 advantage in corners. CSUDH's Agramonte made just one save in the loss while CSUC's Gonzales was credited with six on the afternoon.

CSUDH next hosts CCAA North Division leader Cal State Stanislaus on Sunday afternoon, with first kick scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. start.
