POMONA The location was different for the Cal Poly Pomona's women's volleyball team, but the results were the same.
The Broncos (17-0, 9-0 CCAA), playing in Kellogg Gym for the first time since 1997, posted a 30-19, 30-20, 30-22 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills Wednesday night. Cal Poly Pomona, ranked ninth in the country in the most recent AVCA national poll, extends its program record for best start as well as its longest winning streak to 17 with the victory.
The Broncos recorded 55 kills to 31 for Cal State Dominguez Hills (4-10, 1-8). The Broncos also had six blocks to one for the Toros and recorded eight aces to six for Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Broncos also hit at a sizzling .412 percentage to .096 for the Toros.
Kellie Francis had 15 kills to lead the Broncos, while Allison Anderson had nine kills and two blocks. Jenna Young added eight kills and one block, while Antoinette Kathol had seven kills and three blocks and Vanessa Williams had seven kills and two blocks.
Courtney Spainhour had a strong match for the Toros, recording 15 kills, two aces and 10 digs. She hit at an impressive .355 clip. Amber Harder had 23 set assists for Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Emily Kennedy had 29 set assists in two games for the Broncos, while Breezie Jordan had 14 set assists in the final game. Kiting Kolar and Casey Riedel had eight digs each.
