CARSON, Calif.--Towa Manda scored his first career goal in the 56th minute to give Cal State Bakersfield the upset win on the road over Cal State Dominguez Hills, 1-0, in California Collegiate Athletic Association action Wednesday afternoon at Toro Stadium.

The loss drops the Toros to 12-3-2 overall and 6-3-2 in league play, while the win elevates the Roadrunners to 9-8-0 and 6-5-0 in league action.

Manda took a lead pass inside the penalty box from Nick Angelillo and touched his shot past CSUDH goalie Kyle Polak (Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley HS) to the near post in the 56th minute.

Cal State Dominguez Hills had a perfect opportunity to tie the game with just over two minutes left in regulation when they were awarded a penalty kick after 'Runner defender Lyle Martin took down Sammy Rivas (Long Beach/Wilson HS) inside the penalty box. However, Toro leading scorer Kei Kamara (Lawndale/Leuzinger HS) missed his attempt wide left to keep the score 1-0.

Play was even throughout despite CSUDH holding a 19-6 edge in shots. Marc Perez made seven saves in goal to earn the win for Bakersfield. Polak stopped two shots, but allowed Manda's goal to take the loss.

The Toros are back in league action on Saturday taking on UC San Diego in La Jolla. First kick is slated for 7 PM.
