Aileen Nasypany

Aileen Nasypany returns to the helm of the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer program for a third season.  She is an active member in the NCAA as a graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy and is currently participating on the NCAA Rules Committee and the NCAA Ranking Committee.

Nasypany (Pronounced 'nah-SIH-pah-knee') took over the Toros in 2014 after a five-year head coaching stint at San Francisco-based Academy of Art University.  During her time at the Academy of Art, Nasypany boasted 11 players named to PacWest Teams of the Week, and four players named PacWest Player of the Week en route to six players earning All-PacWest awards and two earning honorable mention honors. In 2012, Nasypany led an Urban Knights squad comprised of players from all over the world to the most wins in program history, along with setting school records for most goals scored and fewest goals allowed.

Nasypany brings a wealth of soccer experience ranging from the club to professional levels.  She played collegiate soccer at Division I Canisius College (NY) and Division II Bentley University (MA). After graduation, she continued her passion for soccer by beginning her coaching career at Herkimer County Community College in NY.

At H.C.C.C., Nasypany served one year as Assistant Coach before being promoted to Head Coach the following year. She guided the team to a 10-5-2 record and a playoff berth en route to being named the Mountain Valley Conference Second-Team Coach of the Year.  Nasypany then spent three years working in the front office of the Boston Breakers (Women's United Soccer Association), where she focused on team and field operations, hospitality, camps, player development program, website design and merchandise.  After the WUSA folded, she became the Assistant Coach for Emerson College in 2003 before serving as an Assistant Coach for the women's soccer program at UC Santa Cruz from 2004-08.

On staff as a Banana Slug, UCSC generated much success with three NCAA Playoff Appearances, earning a top 25 national ranking, and two NSCAA Team Academic Awards. The squad set school records in 2007 with an undefeated season (17-0-4) that included 18 shutouts en route to advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16 round.  Nasypany also contributed to the formation of the Title IX Gender Equity Committee and worked as both Assistant Sports Information Director and Administrative Assistant to the Athletic Director.

Nasypany moved to the West Coast in early 2004 where she has worked with youth premier club teams and high school programs within Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, and the Bay Area.  She was named SCCAL Coach of the Year for her accomplishments at Aptos High School in 2008.

In 2007, Nasypany became the Head Coach for the WPSL San Francisco Nighthawks and a year later, she added the positions of Women's Professional Soccer's League Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the Commissioner to her diverse resume. She guided the Nighthawks to three-consecutive championship titles at the Las Vegas Silver Mug National Tournament (2009, 2010, 2011) and won the Northern California Open State Cup Championship.

A native of Herkimer, N.Y., Nasypany values education. She places equal focus on success in the classroom with her athletes, as displayed by her teams receiving three NSCAA Team Academic Awards at Academy of Art University and two out of two years here at CSUDH thus far.  She completed her own undergraduate studies at Bentley University in Boston and received a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science. She went on to obtain her Masters of Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine. Nasypany has furthered her soccer education through the NSCAA by obtaining both a National and Advanced National Coaching License along with a Mental/Physical Player Development and a Goalkeeper Level 1 diplomas.

Nasypany currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
