Yearby led the Toros to a sweep over visiting Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus last weekend, giving CSUDH its fourth-consecutive conference win.
In the 88-65 win over Chico State on Friday, Yearby led all scorers with 20 points as he drained 9-of-16 shots (56%) from the field, including 2-of-3 from behind the arc, chipping in eight rebounds in the game, good for the night’s second-best total.
One night later against Cal State Stanislaus, the Moreno Valley native again notched game-high scoring honors with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting (58.3%), including another solid 2-of-3 from long range. In fact, it was one of his triples that gave CSUDH breathing room 59-54 after the Warriors had whittled CSUDH’s double-digit lead to just two. One-upping himself from the previous night, Yearby pulled down a game-high nine boards, including four on the offensive end.
On the weekend, Yearby drained 57.1% of his shots (16-for-28), 66.7% from long range (4-of-6) and 75% from the foul stripe (3-of-4), averaging 19.5 points and 8.5 boards as the Toros won two straight in extending their win streak to four-straight.
