Kayla Gillett's hot shooting continues to be impressive as her career-high 24 points at UC San Diego earned her a second CSUDH Athlete of the Week honor in three weeks and her third this season.

Although she scored 24 points in an exhibition with Fresno State, Gillett's points at the Tritons surpassed her official career mark of 21 points set at BYU-Hawai`i in November. She also set a personal best on the free throw line by going a perfect 5-for-5. 

A Los Angeles native, Gillett has started all but one game this season and is averaging 13.8 points which ranks second on the team. In addition to her 37.7 shooting percentage, she paces the Toros with 22 3-point baskets.
