After winning the inaugural Dr. John Johnson Invitational in his collegiate debut, men's golf freshman Andrew was named the CSUDH Athlete of the Week. The CCAA had recognized Fernandes as its Golfer of the Week Thursday.
 
At the Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms Monday and Tuesday, the site of this year's CCAA Championships, Fernandes shot a pair of 70s followed by a 72 in the third and final round for a total of 212, edging Cal State San Bernardino's Greg Robarge's 215 score.
 
The Toros make two trips to Northern California, beginning with Chico State's Wildcat Tournament October 3-4.
