Alfaro was named the 2015-16 CSUDH Male Athlete of the Year at the year end banquet after earning a pair of All-America nods and leading the Toros men's soccer team to the CCAA Championship.

Alfaro, who was drafted by the Seattle Sounders after concluding his collegiate playing career, also led the Toros to the NCAA West Region title game, falling to NCAA runner-up Cal Poly Pomona.
