Baseball junior left-hander Luke Laurita wins his first ever CSUDH Athlete of the Week award after having a stellar outing in the Toros 9-0 victory over San Francisco State Sunday. 

Laurita tossed six shutout innings, including retiring the final nine batters he faced before turning it over to the bullpen. Along the way he conceded two hits and a walk while striking out two.

A Northridge native and a transfer from Glendale College, Laurita has made four starts for the Toros this season and leads the team with a 2.28 ERA in 23.2 innings pitched. He's also 1-1 on the year and has a dozen strikeouts. Opponents are hitting .209 off of him.
