Women's basketball's Breanne Garcia wins her second straight, fourth this season, DH Athlete of the Week award after a stellar performance in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament last week that led her to become the program's career scoring leader.
The Highland native averaged 21.3 points, gathered 20 rebounds and dished out 14 assists in three games played, but the highlight of the week was Saturday, when she passed teammate Monay Lee in the school's all-time points list. Garcia finished the week with 1,477 career points, five more than Lee.
She was also named to the CCAA's All-Tournament team.
Garcia has started all 31 games this season and is averaging 18.3 points and shooting 36.2 percent from the field.
