Velasquez played in a huge role as the Toros went 2-0 this weekend, blanking San Francisco State by a 2-0 count on Friday before surviving a 2-1 overtime decision against CS Monterey Bay two days later.

Velasquez assisted on both scores against the Gators, and then set the tone for the win against the Otters after sneaking by the CSUMB defense and willing a penalty kick attempt after forcing the opposing keeper to tackle him inside the box, one that he converted to give CSUDH a 1-nil lead in the first half.
