Sophomore Stephanie Jimenez picked up 2 wins and a save as the Toros won the series 3 games to 1 over No. 10 UC San Diego last weekend.

On opening day, Jimenez relieved CSUDH’s starter in the 6^th inning clinging to a 1-0 lead, and shut down the UCSD offense by retiring the side in order in the 6^th and allowing a single hit in the 7^th to notch her 3^rd save of the year.

In the nightcap, Jimenez entered in the top of the third with two Tritons on base and a 3-1 count on the batter, winning the battle by inducing a pop up to third base.  Escaping the jam, she allowed just 2 hits in 5.1 innings of work for the win.

The next day, Jimenez was more than up to the challenge as she logged a complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits in the 2-0 win.  The Norwalk native grew stronger as the game progressed, retiring the final 12 batters she faced in the win, also accounting for both RBI at the plate with a 4^th inning 2RBI double.

For the weekend in which she played a significant role in all 3 wins over the 10^th-ranked Tritons, Jimenez posted a 0.49 ERA with just 1 earned run in 14.1 innings of work, limiting UCSD to a .106 batting average while allowing just 5 hits in 3 appearances.
