Jimenez was superb to start the season, notching 3 wins and a save as the Toros went 4-0 to begin 2011, boasting a 1.72 ERA in 20.1 innings pitched with a near 3:1 strikeout to walk ratio.

In the first game of the season, Jimenez entered in the 6th and proceeded to toss 8.0 innings in an eventual 2-1, 13-inning win, scattering five hits while fanning 6 against just 1 walk in the marathon.  She followed that with 2.0 innings pitched to pick up her first save of the season.

            The next day against Notre Dame de Namur, she went 6.1 innings in her first start of the season, scattering 6 hits.  After a rough second inning in which both NDDN runs scored, Jimenez buckled down to retire 15 of the next 17 batters, including 2 of her 4 strikeouts.  In the nightcap, she was just as effective, hurling 4 innings of relief in the 11-inning marathon, allowing just one earned run with 2 strikeouts.

            In her opening weekend, Jimenez limited her opposition to just a .244 batting average while playing a key role in all 4 Toro wins.
