Crossing the finish line as the 19th runner across the threshold, Cal State Dominguez Hills women's cross country newcomer Brigette Fernandez came in with a time of 19:07.6 at the UC Irvine Asics Invitational, putting Fernandez in the Toro history books with the 20th fastest time in a 5k race.

Fernandez allowed only two fellow CCAA runners ahead of her from Cal State San Bernardino as Coyotes Katherine Gomez and Rebeka Frazier placed a respective 10th and 11th.
