This past weekend was all about Kevin Pillar as he broke the NCAA Division II all-time consecutive game hit streak record of 49 straight games to end the week at 51 straight games with a hit.
Leaving nothing to chance, Pillar both tied and broke the record on two doubles, his only two of the weekend.
Pillar would also help the Toros to a game three win with the game-winner, driven in on a home run.
From the field the junior was perfect, converting all nine chances into outs. Pillar also featured two multiple-run games, both resulting in wins for the Toros.
Not content with just breaking the hit streak record, Pillar increased his average to .386, just shy of .400 and moved his total number of hits to 81, 17 shy of tying the CSUDH all-time single season mark and now No. 6 on the Toros’ single-season top-ten list.
