Kody Kurowski gave the No. 13 Toros their first win of a very important CCAA and West Region series against the No. 29 Wildcats of Chico State as he hurled the first complete-game shutout for the Toros against an NCAA ranked opponent since 2006 in a 3-0 win.
Through the first three innings Kurowski held the Wildcats hitless all while overall scattering only one multiple hit inning, and without giving the ‘Cats a run.
Kurowski only once allowed Chico to see third base and only twice allowed them to see second in his 33 batters faced as he also picked off two batters.
Allowing only six total hits on the day he also fanned two batters and had five innings in which the side was retired straight.
With no runs Kurowski lowered his ERA from 6.20 before to 5.40 after the weekend and improved his record to 7-2.
