Montgomery was near flawless in a 9-0 victory over Sonoma State, throwing the second complete game of his career, with both coming in the 2009 season, the only Toro pitcher to hurl a complete game this season.

In seven innings Montgomery shut down the side in all but the last two innings to face a total of 22 batters, grabbing nearly a perfect game aside from a walk and a hit.

Montgomery held a no-hitter for the first 6.1 innings and 19 batters faced before giving up a single in the seventh. After the single Montgomery proceeded to strike out the two remaining batters to end the game.

In the game Montgomery fanned a total of nine batters, with three innings with two strike outs and a K in all but one inning.
