Congdon led the Toros to a huge win over defending NCAA Champion and 4th-ranked Seattle Pacific last Saturday in a 2-0 win over the NCAA West’s top seed. This marked the first loss for SPU to a non-league opponent since the 2007 NCAA semifinals, a span of 20 games, as well as the first CSUDH win over SPU after dropping 5 in a row.
The Torrance native notched her ninth shutout on the year with eight saves, helping CSUDH to become the first team this season to keep the Falcons off the scoreboard, the first time that’s happened in 33 games.
In addition to her stellar keeper play throughout the match, Congdon made two outstanding plays in the 80th minute, pinning the ball against the crossbar and then saving a close-range shot by the Falcons after the pinned ball was dropped in front of he goalmouth.
