Regina Farfan was masterful last week as she picked up four of the Toros' five wins, including three in CCAA play against Chico State.
In the non-conference twinbill against CS San Bernardino to kick off the week, Farfan tossed a complete game shutout in the opener, fanning seven Coyotes against zero walks in the 1-0 win, also tossing an inning of work in the 12-0 no-decision blowout that followed to give head coach Jim Maier his 300th career victory.
Against Chico State on Friday, the senior ace no-hit the Wildcats through five innings in the opening 6-2 win, eventually allowing one hit and one run in addition to fanning four CSUC batters, as well as two in the nightcap after hurling 3.0 innings in a no-decision loss.
The next day against CSUC, Farfan continued her mastery by tossing 13.0 innings in picking a 4-0 complete game win in the opener, and a 2-1 decision in the nightcap. In the 4-0 win, Farfan retired the side in two innings, and faced just four batters in the other five.
Overall, Farfan boasted a 0.24 ERA in her six games of action over the weekend that included two complete game shutouts, allowing just one earned run in 29.1 innings of work with 15 strikeouts against just seven walks, while opposing batters hit just .149 against her.
