Tallied a double-double of 13 boards and 10 points as the Toros staged a come-from-behind 60-51 win over visiting UC San Diego on December 20. Barnesr was a one-man show in the first half, grabbing 7 boards and contributing 6 points, while pulling down 6 more boards after the half, including a one-handed defensive effort in which he skied well above the Triton offensive players around the basket. Additionally, the uber athlete displayed his athleticism with nearly 10 minutes elapsed in the second half as he leapt over a UCSD defender and threw down a monstrous alley-oop to bring the Toros to within a point. After an ensuing miss from UCSD, Barnes drained two foul shots to give CSUDH the lead at 39-38, a lead they would never relinquish.
