Senior Jeff Phillips was handed the ball and the task of closing out his collegiate career against one of the top teams in the nation in No. 5 Sonoma State, and did not disappoint.
 
The Redondo Beach native dominated the nationally-ranked Seawolves over eight innings, allowing just one hit and two runs, with only one being earned while tossing 141 pitches and fanning four batters as the Toros took the opener 4-2.
 
The righty faced four or less batters in seven of the eight innings, while facing just five hitters in the other inning. 
 
Phillips only allowed two baserunners once over the eight innings in final start of his career.
