Toros Down Eagles in Low-Scoring 42-32 Exhibition Decision

CARSON -- The weather outside reached a balmy 66 degrees, but Biola and Cal State Dominguez Hills both shot under 25% from the field as the Toros out-lasted the Eagles 42-32 in an exhibition contest.  Julia Poecksteiner led all scorers with 12 points in the contest.

Both teams made just seven shots in 32 attempts in a first half that saw the Toros take a 17-15 lead into the break.

Things didn't get much better after the half as the teams matched percentages at 27.3, with CSUDH knocking down 3 more field goals.

A big difference came on the boards with the Toros gathering a 51-44 advantage, with Jamie Robinson tying for game-high honors with 10 boards, including 6 on the offensive end.

Monay Lee also added 10 boards, with Robinson chipping in 9 points in the win.

The Toros kick off their 2012-13 season on Sunday at Division I San Diego State, before opening their homestand the following Tuesday against their cross-town rival Cal State L.A., set for a 7 pm first tip.
