Men's soccer's Scott Locken repeated with a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring semester to lead four Toros with the perfect mark

Seventy-Six Toro Student-Athletes Make Spring Honor Roll

CARSON -- Cal State Dominguez Hills junior #Scott Locken# continued his stellar academic performance by earning his second-straight 4.0 GPA to highlight four student-athletes who achieved that plateau as 76 total Toros earned spring honor roll status, tying for the third-highest total in the department's history.

Locken, a kinesiology major, started 6 games in 25 played for the NCAA quarterfinalist men's soccer team, scoring 2 goals on the year, including a game-winner in the 4-1 win over CS East Bay (Oct 18). This defender/midfielder led women's soccer's #Alyssa Congdon#, women's basketball's #Alisha Hill# and track and field's #Dora Baldwin#, who completed the quartet of perfect spring 4.0 GPAs with 12 student-athletes earning at least a 3.80 mark.

Ten of the 11 sports boasted at least two student-athletes on the spring list as women's soccer repeated as the top-scoring team after placing 18 athletes on the list, with women's basketball next with 13.

Men's soccer and volleyball followed with nine apiece, with baseball's eight, softball and track and field's seven, cross country's three and men's basketball's two rounding out the spring recipients.

This semester's total tied for the third-highest number of student-athletes who earned honor roll status, following 82 in fall 2009, 78 in fall 2008 and 76 in spring of 2009.
