Toro Teamwork Nets Top Honors in Relay at Ben Brown Invitational

Chanel Parker anchored the 1st-place relay team while grabbing 1st in the 100m hurdles as well

FULLERTON - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's track & field team fired on all cylinders in their third outdoor meet of the season, led by two quartets of runners in the 4x100 relay, the first carding the king spot with a time of 47.23, and the second finishing with a 48.77 at seventh to highlight action in the Cal State Fullerton Ben Brown Invitational.

Among a field of 14 NCAA Division I and II universities the team of Monikkia White, Destiny Tyler, Breionna Jackson and Chanel Parker took top honors with a time of 47.23 to best local rival Cal State L.A.'s third-place time of 47.99.

The Toros' 'B' team sizzled as well, taking seventh with a finish of 48.77, also best CSULA's 'B' team at eighth with a time of 48.78.

Other highlights on the day include Parker's top finish in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.59, nearly a full half-second ahead of second place finisher Briana Kennedy-Feldhaus of UC Riverside at 15.04.

The Toros will break from the outdoor season as a select few head to Albuquerque, New Mexico to make a break towards All-American nods at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships hosted by Adams State College next week.  The full announcement on participating runners to follow soon.
