WALNUT CREEK -- Marking the most they have put on the list in its four year history, Cal State Dominguez Hills Athletics placed twenty-seven Toros to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic team, honoring their achievements in the classroom and putting the final mark in what was a banner year for CSUDH Athletics.

Of the 27, five were repeat honorees led by Kristen Boskovich of women's soccer and Christine Bathauer of softball, both of whom have made the list for the past four years straight.

Additionally, Scott Mariano of men's soccer made his third appearance while Ashley Clark of volleyball and Barbara Houston of women's basketball each made the list for the second time. This marks Houston's second academic achievement this year as she was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine All-Academic 3rd-Team (District 8) this past winter.

“I am very pleased and proud of the academic success of our student-athletes,” states Director of Athletic Patrick Guillen.  “We have had a banner year on the various venues of competition this past year, but it is the success in the classroom that ultimately is going to open up a world of opportunity for our students once they graduate.  Congratulations to all for being recognized for your hard-work and dedication in your academic pursuits.”

For the second straight year and third overall, women's soccer fielded the most recipients with eight honorees while volleyball came in a close second with six. Women's track & field followed with four while baseball, men's soccer and softball came in with two each. Men's golf, men's basketball and women's basketball finish up the list with one apiece.
