Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills junior defender Kevin Gallaugher earned CCAA Defensive MVP honors, and joined teammate Kyle Holland as 1st-team selections to highlight a total of five Toros named to All-CCAA teams as voted on by the CCAA men's soccer head coaches.

After claiming two All-America, two 1st-team All-Region, a 1st-team All-CCAA and the conference Newcomer of the Year awards in 2007, Gallaugher continued his stellar play this year by leading CSUDH to 10 shutouts and 7 games with 1 goal allowed, allowing just 15 goals all year.  Additionally, the defender-turned-occasional midfielder connected for 5 goals and 3 game-winners to tie for 4th in the CCAA, and claimed his first CCAA Player of the Week award.  The team's defensive heart and soul, the Walnut native-led Toros finished first in the CCAA in shutouts, 2nd in goals allowed, and 3rd in GAA.

Holland made his successful return to the Toro lineup after sitting out last season due to injury, and ended the regular season 2nd in goals in the CCAA, 3rd in game-winning goals, 5th in points, and with one CCAA Player of the Week award.  Amassing team-best totals of 10 goals and 23 points, the Anchorage native led CSUDH to the second-best goal and point tallies as a team, and the third-best assist total in the league.

Sophomore Kris Clark earned his first 2nd-team All-CCAA honor after gaining a goal and 2 assists, controlling the midfield with his stellar ball-control and pin-point passes, while four-year seniors Alberto Garcia and Carmelo Terranova both garnered 3rd-team All-CCAA honors after combining for 5 goals and 2 assists on the year, rounding out the decorated quintet.

Individually, Sonoma State's Ross Middlemiss earned the CCAA Most Valuable Offensive Player nod, with teammate Cam Vickers capturing the CCAA Newcomer of the Year honor, Chico State's Andrew Ruiz earning Freshman of the Year and Chico State's Felipe Restrepo winning Coach of the Year accolades.

Ranked No. 4 in the NSCAA and qualifying for the CCAA Championship Tournament as the No. 2 seed with a 16-2-2, 10-2-2 CCAA mark, CSUDH begins play on Friday morning against No. 4 seed Chico State at 11:00 am, on the campus of host UC San Diego.  Earlier this season, the Wildcats handed the Toros a 3-1 defeat in Chico, one of only two losses the Toros have suffered on the year.
