Cedric Gilmore

Title: Outfield / Hitting Coach

No stranger to the Cardinal & Gold, Gilmore was a standout player for the Toros in 1996. As a starting outfielder, Gilmore hit a solid .343 to lead the team, including 7 doubles, 3 home runs and 24 RBI in his 178 at bats, earning 2nd-team All-CCAA honors for his efforts.

Returning to the Carson campus and the Toros baseball team in 2001 after an injury, Gilmore earned his way back into the starting line-up en route to batting .317 with 60 hits, 13 doubles, 5 home runs, and 30 RBI to remain a fixture in CSUDH’s offensive lineup.

Prior to CSUDH, Gilmore played two seasons at Rio Hondo JC where he led his team to a playoff berth his sophomore year with a .320 average. He also led in doubles and triples as a freshman. Aside from his three additional letters in baseball at Oakland HS where he earned All-OAL honors three straight years, he also competed in basketball his senior season, averaging 15 points per game.

Born in Oakland, California, Gilmore is an alum of Cal State Dominguez Hills with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (2002).  He resides in Carson while employed as a personal trainer, and most recently received his master’s degree in Physical Education Administration from CSUDH in the winter of 2009.

Says Coach Su'a:
"Cedric is full of energy and is the spark of our coaching staff.  Coach Gilmore is very familiar with the CCAA conference both as a player and a coach.   He will be instrumental in preparing our players for the always tough CCAA.  He works well with all our players and teaches with great enthusiasm."
